Your Fitness Goal Is Failing Because You Don’t Actually Give a Shit

You Don’t Have a Discipline Problem, You Have a Reason Problem

Ey up,

Let's walk through why your goals always end up going to shit.

And how YOU can avoid being that person.

Let’s get one thing straight: most people don’t fail because they’re lazy.

They fail because they don’t know why they’re doing it.

  • They sign up to the gym because they think they should

  • They track their food because some influencer on Instagram said they should

  • They aim for 10K steps because it’s what their Fitbit says they should

See the common them? 👀

They’re all things you think you should do, but don’t want to do 😬

And guess what?

They fail

Because deep down, they don’t care enough.

There’s no drive. No actual compelling reason to get it done.

Doing something just because you ‘should’ is a recipe for failure.

It’s a shit reason 💩💩💩

“I Want to Be Fitter” Isn’t a Real Goal

It's wayyyyyyyy too vague. It's not pressing, it's not urgent, and it's not specific.'

Let's go into a bit more detail:

👉 Do you want to look lean on the beach this summer?
👉 Do you want to deadlift more than your ex’s new boyfriend?
👉 Do you want to outrun your mates in a 10K?
👉 Do you want to play with your kids without getting gassed after 30 seconds?
👉 Do you want to feel confident taking your top off for once in your life?

Those are REAL goals!

And when the “why” is personal and specific, you’ll actually turn up 🙌

Want to Know What My Current Why is?

I want to feel like I can jump off a wall without wondering whether I'll roll my ankle or re-tear my ACL.

I want to be able to knock the 20-year-olds off the ball that I play 5-a-side against ⚽️

Your why needs to be THAT specific so you can envision it daily.

The Gym Shouldn’t Feel Like a Punishment

If going to the gym feels like a chore, it’s because you’re treating it like one…

👉 You’ve assigned it a meaning of guilt and obligation.

Who WANTS to do anything out of guilt and obligation?

Who has ever ENJOYED doing something out of guilt and obligation?

NO ONE

But when you have a goal?

The gym becomes a tool 💪

A weapon.

Something that brings you closer to the thing you want 🙌

Without a goal, you’ll drag your feet every time.

With a goal, you’ll show up early 🏆

Your Goal Can Be Petty. It Can Be Vain. It Can Be Weird.

I don’t care what it is.

But you need one.

It could be:
💔 Getting a revenge body post-breakup
🏝 Looking mint on your lads holiday
🏃🏻‍♂️ Beating your annoying colleagues 10K time
👶 Keeping up with your kids at the park
📸 Taking a photo you actually want to post

Whatever gets you fired up, use it.

Because “I just want to be healthy” isn’t cutting it.

The Takeaway? Find Your Why. Then Go After It.

The people who succeed?

They don’t have more motivation. They just give more of a shit 🤷‍♂️

If you don’t have a good enough reason to train, you won’t.

But if you’ve got one, you’ll do whatever it takes.

You don’t need a new workout. You don’t need a new supplement.

You need a real fucking reason to show up.

Find THAT.

The rest is easy 🙌

Cheers,
