Why I’m Leaning into the ‘Winter Arc’ (Even Though It’s F*cking Cringe)
Winter really is the perfect time to go all in
Ey up
Alright, I’ll admit it.
Despite my best efforts, I’ve ended up back in the UK for a bit.
It’s not what I had planned, it’s pitch black at 6 PM, and I’m watching my own breath in my living room
And there’s nowt to do
As a result, my ability to focus on training in the gym AND coaching my clients right now is probably the highest it's been
A shameless plug to show you Jasper’s progress
The man has grown a tricep on top of this tricep 🥐
4kg down ⬇️
45kg added to his deadlift ⬆️
40kg added to his squat ⬆️
10-20kg added (minimum) to practically every lift on top of that 🏋🏻♂️

We’ve barely scraped the surface in terms of nutrition, and we’ve only just begun integrating the tracking and logging of nutrition into his social life. The goal is to do this seamlessly 👍

I’m seeing this cringe as fuck ‘winter arc’ everywhere on social media
Even I don’t need to tell you that shouldn't be treating your training during winter any differently from the other eight months of the year
BUT
Saying that, I’m kinda here for it
Here's the thing: right now, winter really is the perfect time to go all in
You’ve got fewer distractions
It’s darker so there’s fuck all to do in the evening
People tend to spend less time socialising because the weather's shite
Meaning that you can dial in on your training and focus on the basics without all the other noise.

Cue cringe Rocky training montage
While I usually brush off seasonal fitness trends, I’m leaning into it this time because if winter means locking in my training and setting some real goals, why not go all in?
I quite literally am playing into the stereotype because now that it is winter, the only thing I can really put my mental and physical focus towards is:
Training
Running
Work
I’m literally sitting here in a hoodie with headphones on as I write this email, I’ve become the very thing that I sought to destroy when I started out in fitness

But I can’t lie, the Winter Arc trend is the perfect excuse to focus on getting fitter and stronger, and if you need to pretend you’re in some ridiculous Rocky training montage to motivate yourself, then you do you mate
And if you’re ready to take it seriously, this might be a great time to bring in a coach to keep you locked in
Cheers,
