Stop Chasing Fitness Trends
Fitness is fashionable, but your progress doesn’t have to be
Ello,
Let me hit you with a reality check: fitness follows trends.
👉️ One year it’s protein makes you bulky, the next it’s eat 2g of protein per kg body weight or you’ll shrivel up
👉️ One year it’s cardio kills gains, the next it’s you’re not fit if you’re not running ultras
👉️ One year sugar is the devil, the next we’re chucking it into “healthy” electrolyte gels like it’s going out of style
It’s all been demonised. And it’s all been worshipped
And honestly? None of it matters if you don’t have the fundamentals nailed
Supplements Are the Perfect Example

I had more supplements than sense
Let me take you back to 2017
L-Glutamine, L-Citrulline, Creatine, Glucosamine, Beta Alanine, L-Arginine, Taurine…you name it, I had it — I couldn’t even tell you what half of them did 😂
I was spending stupid money on tiny, marginal gains (that’s if they even made a difference at all)
Why did I take them? Because everyone else was 🤦♂️
What Actually Works?
Look, I’m not saying supplements are useless. There are a few staples worth your time (we’ve talked about those before). But the real gains don’t come from powders, pills, or whatever new training style influencers are hyping this year
I’ve followed all the trends over the years. Every marathon fad, every supplement hype, every random training split people swore by
And guess what? I still made progress. Not because of the trends themselves, but because I had the fundamentals locked in
What works is boring stuff:
🛌 Sleeping well
🥩 Hitting your protein target
⚖️ Hitting your calorie target
🏋🏻♀️ Training to failure
🏋🏻♀️ Progressively overloading your lifts
🍎 Eating plenty of fruit and veg
🍕 Going out for a pizza with your mates without guilt
Nothing sexy, no magic shortcuts. But THIS is what will get you results
The Bottom Line
There’s no magic greens powder or supplement that’s going to make this easy
If there was, everyone would be walking around with 6-packs and obesity wouldn’t exist
The only things you really need are a solid training programme, and healthy habits
And if you’re struggling to lock in those core habits? That’s where coaching makes the difference:

Phase 1: Learn to train properly, intensely, and with good technique
Phase 2: The diet & reverse diet. We had a slow progressive calorie deficit and slow but progressive increase to his cardio. Super simple, but by no means easy but he smashed it, 9 kilos down total
We’re now in the process of slowly reducing cardio, slowly increasing calories, and Josh is getting leaner AND stronger 🔥
