Stop Wasting Time Watching Sh*te Fitness Content
And What Actually Helps
Alright, let’s cut to it
We’ve all seen those videos that go something like this…
“This is what 200 calories of bananas looks like… Here’s what 200 calories of peanut butter looks like… Here’s what 200 calories of ice cream looks like…”
That is the video equivalent of eating chicken and rice for 4 meals a day. Boring
It’s 2024, and we’re still watching content telling us that peanut butter is high in fat and chicken breast is leaner than chicken thighs
It’s not exactly groundbreaking information
The people who eat peanut butter or chocolate know what they’re doing. They know that a banana would give them more volume for fewer calories, and yet, they’ll still eat the chocolate anyway
It’s not rocket science; it’s common f*cking sense
Here’s the real problem: people don’t need more info on what they’re eating
They need practical solutions on how to manage their habits around food
That means content that goes deeper, like meal ideas using foods they actually crave or smart substitutes for when they can’t make room for higher-calorie choices
Practical Advice > Empty Facts
For anyone who’s genuinely trying to make a change, here’s my advice:
Stop wasting your time with surface-level content that does nothing for your actual progress
Find people and content that address your real challenges, like reducing cravings or stopping yourself from tearing through a bag of crisps at midnight
And if you’re scrolling on social media, ask yourself if what you’re consuming is genuinely helpful or just a distraction disguised as “motivation”
Quality content should give you strategies that fit into your life, not random calorie comparisons with zero application

like really, what are you gaining from seeing this?
Strategy > Willpower
Look, I get it
Motivation and willpower sound inspiring, but real progress comes from structure and strategy.
Here’s how I manage to keep balance, enjoy what I eat, and hit my fitness goals without constantly burning out on “willpower”:
Routine and Planning: I map out my meals on MyFitnessPal the night before. If I know I’ll be out all day, I batch a couple of meals in advance so I’m not left making impulse decisions
Setting Up for Social Events: If I’ve got plans with friends or a date night, I’ll shave some calories from earlier meals to enjoy it without guilt
Organised, Not Restrained: By planning ahead, I don’t need “willpower” to resist pizza or late-night cereal. I’ve already set myself up to stay on track
The bottom line is that practical fitness content should do more than just highlight the calorie counts of everyday foods; it should be actionable
It should give you the tools to work around your cravings, not just tell you what they are. If you’re serious about making changes, focus on content that respects your time and helps you make meaningful adjustments
