Jimmy’s Story
This Guy 💪🏼
Morning!
Here’s a story about my ex-client Jimmy.
Jimmy came to me during a tough period.
When he told me about his situation,
Mannnn…
I could tell it was painful for him, I immediately started to brainstorm a path forward.
I knew we had some serious work to do 🫡
Jimbo was 74kg at the time, skinny-fat and definitely not as strong as he wanted to be.
On top of that he was trying to break into Hartpury Rugby’s 1st team but…
Despite working his ass off…
Jimmy was too small to make the team.
That hurt.
While this was disheartening, the path forward became clear as day.
Becoming a MONSTER was Jimbo’s only option.
To make this a reality, we had to focus on a few things-
Food, food, food.
Heavy compound lifts.
Making sure his bodyweight was doing nothing but increasing.
AND, what I forgot to mention at the start, we are still in the midst of Covid at this point so the gyms were shut 😅
Luckily, Jimmy had some stuff that proved pretty handy…
A barbell, a bench, some adjustable dumbbells anddd some resistance bands.
BOSH. That’ll do.
Soooo…
Fast forward 6 months!
He’s been eating like a king for the entire time. 4300 cals a day, up from 2500 beforehand 💪🏼
Bodyweight up? Yesir.
74kg to 86kg 😎
Gained size across the board and was now in a routine every single day!
He was also crushing it in the gym, adding about 30kg to each compound lift.
The only issues was…
He gained some FAT during those 6 months.
And although this bothered him, it was essential to the process.
Right.
Time to shred the stubborn fat…
Thankfully the gyms were back open at this point 👍
We brought the calories back down to 2500 daily while keeping a VERY careful eye on strength levels.
Jimmy stuck to the plan 🫡
We managed to get his bodyweight down to his previous weight… 74kg.
However this time he looked like a FUCKING ANIMAL.
His strength levels didn’t decrease,
He now has muscle everywhere!
Shredded.
BEAST.
And just in time for rugby to start again ✅
The last bit of his training was very rugby specific.
Lots of plyometrics, lots of game scenario-related strength training.
Had to make him as bulletproof as possible in the scrum-half.
There was no fucking way he was getting rejected now 🤣
Surely enough, a few months down the line…
Jimbo made it.
👏
If YOU ever find yourself in a frustrating situation like Jimmy,
Where you can’t seem to break through,
And it seems like there’s not a single, practical path forward,
And that’s pissing you off…
Don’t be afraid to reach out.
There is ALWAYS a way. ALWAYS.
Jimmy is living proof 🫡💪🏼
